The Role

Cognota is looking for a Director of Demand Generation to work closely with cross-functional GTM stakeholders to build a repeatable and scalable demand gen engine that drives pipeline, bookings, and overall business growth. This is a player/coach role where you'll be hands-on but also manage and support a talented marketing team of five people, creating strategy, planning execution, and real-time performance management to ensure top-line objectives are met. 

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building and scaling B2B SaaS companies from early stages in revenue into growth stages (generally defined as $10M). If you are an entrepreneurial, revenue-driven, hands-on, analytical, and strategic marketing leader with a proven track record, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Streamline and spearhead the enhancement of current campaigns and the creation of innovative, cost-effective strategies that surpass revenue targets by effectively coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Direct a proficient B2B marketing unit to energize various channels—content, social media, SEO, partnerships, paid ads, community outreach, events, and email marketing—that energize our Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategy.
  • Oversee our Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) initiatives, providing insightful analysis on marketing channel performance whilst offering tactical advice on investment adjustments to optimize spend.
  • Cultivate extensive expertise in the corporate Learning & Development sector to craft nuanced audience segmentation and precisely targeted audience profiles.
  • Expand our database and bolster relationships with existing prospects through diverse and engaging lead-nurturing campaigns and experiences.
  • Efficiently monitor and report on marketing performance; implement comprehensive dashboards with advanced tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, and Demandbase to maintain transparency with key stakeholders.
  • Embrace a collaborative attitude to problem-solving and a great ability to design, develop, and take marketing campaigns and GTM processes to new heights.
  • Maintain a goal-driven mindset, fostering innovation and creativity while bolstering team morale through tenacity, leadership, and grit.

Qualifications:

5+ years’ experience in B2B Marketing with a focus on Demand Generation and Account-Based Marketing (ABM), and strong references to support that you are a hands-on player/coach working in a startup or scale-up environment. 

  • 2+ years of experience in a managerial role 
  • BA / BS in Marketing or equivalent working experience
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relations with cross-functional teams, particularly with Sales
  • Ability to report on results with proficiency in Salesforce reports and Hubspot capabilities or equivalent
  • Excellent project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage deliverables from stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes on time - quickly and effectively
